Brandi Chastain, born July 21, 1968, is an iconic American soccer player, coach and broadcaster.
With 192 caps for the U.S. national team (1988-2004), she scored 30 goals, most notably the 1999 World Cup-winning penalty against China.
Chastain’s professional career spanned Japan, the U.S. and California’s Women’s Premier Soccer League.
Recognized for her contributions, she was named to the USWNT All-Time Best XI in 2013 and inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 2017 and the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.
