Brian Chesky born on August 29, 1981 in Niskayuna New York co-founded Airbnb with Joe Gebbia whom he met while attending the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in industrial design in 2004.
After working as an industrial designer in Los Angeles Chesky moved to San Francisco in 2007 rooming with Gebbia.
To make rent, they rented out space in their apartment coining it “Airbed and Breakfast” which with the addition of third founder Nathan Blecharczyk evolved into Airbnb in 2008.
