Curtis Hutson (1934-1995) was a prominent Independent Fundamental Baptist pastor and editor of The Sword of the Lord.
Born in Decatur, Georgia, Hutson preached at local church services while working as a mail carrier.
In 1956, he became the pastor of Forrest Hills Baptist Church of Scottdale.
After attending a Sword of the Lord conference in 1961, Hutson adopted aggressive evangelism, leading his congregation in soul winning.
His church grew from 350 to 7,900 members under his leadership. From years 1974 to 1980 Hutson served as the president of the Baptist University of America. In
1978, he became the Associate Editor of ‘The Sword of the Lord’ and took over as editor in 1980 following John R. Rice’s death, a position he held until his death in 1995.
