Murray Bookchin (1921-2006) was an American philosopher, political theorist, and social critic.

Within anarchist, libertarian socialist, and ecological thought, Bookchin conceived and advanced the theory of social ecology and urban planning.

He is best known for his book, “The Ecology of Freedom”, which offered a radical new vision of society based on ecology and libertarian principles.
