Paula Radcliffe born on December 17, 1973 in Northwich Cheshire England is a famous British distance runner known for her world records in marathon running.
Raised in an athletic family she showed an early aptitude for running winning the world junior cross-country title in 1992.
Over the years she progressed in global track championships eventually moving to longer distances and won the world half marathon title in 2000.
Her achievements include gold medals at the 2002 Commonwealth Games and European Championships setting a world record in the 2003 London Marathon and winning the New York City Marathon in 2004 and 2007.
Despite facing injuries and personal challenges including childbirth she continued to compete at a high level retiring in 2015.
