Roy Rogers was a famous American cowboy actor and singer.
He appeared in about 90 movies and over 100 TV episodes from the late 1930s to the mid-1950s earning the title “king of the cowboys.”
Known for his non-lethal approach to defeating villains Rogers began his career in music with his cousin forming the Sons of the Pioneers famous for western country music.
His film career took off in 1938 with “Under Western Stars” featuring his horse Trigger.
He married co-star Dale Evans in 1947 with whom he appeared in films and their own TV show.
Later in life Rogers made TV appearances marketed products and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1988.
