He won 14 PGA Tour tournaments, including the 1964 U.S. Open, despite battling injuries and carpal tunnel syndrome.
His amateur golf career featured a second-place finish at the 1956 Masters and two California State Amateur Championships.
Post-retirement in 1967, Venturi had a successful 35-year broadcasting career with CBS Sports.
