Born as Torrence Hatch, Lil Boosie grew up in a crime-ridden area of Baton Rouge.
He found solace in basketball and music after his father’s death and his expulsion from school.
He began his musical career with Baton Rouge rapper C-Loc in the late ’90s, contributing to the album “It’s a Gamble”. His debut CD “Youngest of the Camp” sold over 10,000 units.
After a period of incarceration and a return to criminal behavior, he joined Trill Entertainment, releasing the CD “For my Thugs”, which sold over 15,000 copies.
His 2004 release, “Gangsta Musik”, gained significant popularity. Boosie then signed with Universal Records in 2005, releasing “Boosie Bad Azz”.
Despite his rising popularity, Boosie faced legal issues, including indictment for first-degree murder and drug trafficking charges in 2010.
