Stan Lee, originally named Stanley Martin Lieber, was a famed American comic book writer, known for his pivotal work with Marvel Comics.
His creative genius led to the birth of iconic characters and teams like Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, the Avengers and X-Men.
Lee started his career at Timely Comics, later known as Atlas and ultimately Marvel, where his role evolved from editorial assistant to editor, writer and eventually publisher and editorial director.
He pioneered “the Marvel method” of storytelling, blending superhuman abilities with human insecurities.
After 60 years with Marvel, Lee formed Stan Lee Media and later Pow Entertainment, both focused on his creations.
