Larry Bird, born December 7, 1956, in West Baden, Indiana, is a former professional basketball player who led the Boston Celtics to three NBA championships in 1981, 1984 and 1986.

He is regarded as one of the greatest shooters of all time. Bird played for Indiana State University and later drafted by the Celtics in 1978.

He won the Rookie of the Year award in 1980 and was a 12-time All Star, winning three consecutive league MVP awards.
