Born on March 21, 1904, Mars learned the candy business from his father, Frank C. Mars, founder of Mars, Inc.
After taking a buyout from his father’s company, Forrest moved to England to expand his business knowledge.
He then returned to the U.S., establishing Food Products Manufacturing and introducing the Uncle Ben’s rice line.
In 1940, Mars entered the candy business independently.
